I was trying to think of...Thank you for this post. I was trying to think of something to put on the chore chart I just made for my kids which seems so dang legalistic and rigid. But holy smokes clean up after your dang self and brush your teeth without my telling you after 13 years!! However, I want them to do things because they realize they are a prized possession of the most high king, and I want them to love themselves as much as God loves them. But not in a narcissistic way. I just want them to care for themselves. And I realize that starts with knowing Jesus. So, I think I will go with “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. ~ John 15:9 (NIV)<br />9 . And I will explain to them how this mean that Jesus was sent here 100% for us... to liberate us from the law. Because we are so very treasured.
